2023.9.21 WorMING
We had a joint progress report with Kimura lab, Takeishi lab, and Nakano lab. We named this meeting Worm Meeting with Innovative Neuroscience Group (WorMING). Mariko gave a nice presentation! After the research session, we had a party to celebrate PhD of Ling-Fei san (Kimura lab) at "Takiteria" of Nagoya City University.
2023.9.19 Ken talked with Dr. Miyata
Ken was invited to the talk session called "Bio-Amazing" by Dr. Mitsuru Miyata and chatted with him. It is on YouTube!
2023.9.16-18 Ken presented at ABiSS meeting
Ken attended ABiSS meeting at Kanazawa, gave a talk, and made a lot of new friends! It was really a nice meeting organized by Dr. Hiroshi Kawasaki and Dr. Motoshi Hayano. We are looking forward to the one next year at Kushiro!

Ken gave a talk at a meeting about the communications between the gut and other tissues (「腸と腸外組織コミュニケーション」研究会) held at Nagoya University.
2023.8.21 Waddiyah farewell
Waddiyah completed one year of exchange program with the University of Manchester and went back to the UK. She spearheaded a new project in the lab regarding the age-dependent decline of avoidance behavior. Great job!
2023.8.17-18 nFuture2023
Ken organized nFuture2023 meeting (Link). Sota presented his work and got the poster presentation award! It's impressive because he presented kinda negative results, which tend to be more difficult to present. He also got the Bingo award by talking to a lot of people. Great job! 2023.7.27-28 FOREST meeting
Ken organized a meeting about aging (老化の多面的理解に向けた融合の場) at FOREST (創発) meeting in Tokyo and gave a talk as well.
2023.7.13 Annual lab meeting
Our group had a joint annual progress report with Kojima group, and all the students presented their progress. Great job! We enjoyed the after party as well!
2023.6.13 We moved to the Science G building
We moved from the Science B building to the renovated Science G building. Now, our lab spaces are located at G406 and G415, the student's room at G409, and Ken's office at G411.
2023.5.30 Paper published in eLife!
Our first paper (in terms of Ken as the sole corresponding author) was published in eLife (Link). This paper describes how bacterial diet affect the age-dependent decline of an associative learning behavior in C. elegans.
